Citizens for a New Delaware Way Announces $200,000 in New Funding to Continue Fight for Transparent, Inclusive State Government

Citizens for a New Delaware Way, the political action committee that raised over $1 million to bring new leadership to the Delaware Governor’s office, has secured an additional $200,000 in funding. This infusion of support will be used to expand the PAC’s efforts to bring lasting change to the broader fabric of state leadership and governance.

From its inception, Citizens for a New Delaware Way has been committed to ending Delaware’s entrenched culture of backroom deals and insider privilege. The PAC’s platform champions transparency, diversity, and accountability in Delaware’s courts and government institutions. With early success in ushering new leadership into the governor’s office, the organization now turns its focus to systemic reform throughout the state.

The PAC's reform agenda includes police accountability, increased diversity in legal leadership, and greater judicial transparency – highlighted by current efforts to introduce “wheelspin” in the state’s courts that would end the practice of judges hand-picking cases, which opens the door to favoritism and potential unfairness. Through this and additional transparency measures, the group is committed to advancing legislation that ensures all leadership, including the courts, is accountable and truly serves the people.

“This new funding is a sign that the people of Delaware are ready for lasting change – not just in the governor’s office, but across every level of government,” said Jackie Griffith, campaign spokesperson. “Citizens for a New Delaware Way will continue to push for new, diverse leaders committed to transparency and fairness in Delaware’s courts and throughout all branches of State leadership.”

Jackie Griffith will continue working with the group’s longtime campaign manager, Chris Coffey, on identifying races and creating campaigns by district.

Citizens for a New Delaware Way believes that every Delawarean deserves a government that is as transparent as it is effective – a system not controlled by insiders, but driven by community voices, accountability, and justice.
