AM Best has maintained the under review with negative implications status for the Financial Strength Rating of B++ (Good) and the Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of “bbb” (Good) of Cowen Reinsurance S.A. (Cowen Re) (Luxembourg).

AM Best has upgraded the Financial Strength Rating (FSR) to A+ (Superior) from A (Excellent) and the Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating (Long-Term ICR) to “aa-” (Superior) from “a” (Excellent) of Michigan Millers Mutual Insurance Company (Michigan Millers) (Lansing, MI), a newly added subsidiary of Western National Insurance Pool (Western National). The outlook of these Credit Ratings (ratings) has been revised to stable from positive.

AM Best has withdrawn the Financial Strength Rating of C+ (Marginal) and the Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of “b-” (Marginal) of Berking Re Limited (Berking Re) (Bermuda). At the time of the withdrawal, the Credit Ratings (ratings) were under review with negative implications status.

AM Best has assigned a Long-Term Issue Credit Rating of “a-” (Excellent) to the $25 million, 7.155% surplus notes, due January 13, 2046, issued by United Educators Insurance, a Reciprocal Risk Retention Group (United Educators) (Burlington, VT). The outlook assigned to this Credit Rating (rating) is stable.

AM Best has assigned a Preliminary Credit Assessment (PCA) to Beazley Bermuda Insurance Limited (BBIL) (Bermuda) with a Financial Strength Assessment of A pca (Excellent) and a Long-Term Issuer Credit Assessment of “a+” pca (Excellent). The outlook assigned to the PCA is stable.
