While many analysts on Wall Street have raised their price targets on GMS after The Wall Street Journal’s report that Home Depot may have submitted a competing bid against QXO, RBC Capital said the lack of details “raises questions.”

Home Depot wants to acquire GMS, sparking a potential bidding war with QXO in the construction materials space.

While Dow Jones futures declined by 0.16% at the time of writing, the S&P 500 futures were down 0.18%.

Charles Schwab shares gained 0.2% to settle at $88.40 during the previous day's trading session, while QXO shares fell 1%.

Wolfe Research cited strong organic EBITDA growth potential and acquisition-driven value in the building products distribution space.

The building materials company expects to raise $1 billion from the offering.
